Abstract

Claude Neon Lights, the new system of illuminated signs and decorations, has made its appearance in Shanghai.

In England and America, this recently discovered marvel of illumination is described as "living flame". In addition to their orange-red glow, the tubes can also be made to give a beautifully clear cold blue light, a distinctive green light and various other colours, separately or in combination.

Claude Neon Lights are being manufactured locally in Shanghai by Claude Neon Lights, Federal Inc., U.S.A. The managing director of the company, Mr. Bruno Schwartz, a well known resident of China, returned to Shanghai a month ago with four American technical experts an an artist-designer. With them came full machinery and equipment for the installation of a Neon manufacuring plant which is to duplicate here in Shanghai those of New York, London and Paris. This equipment is now being installed in the Claude Neon Light Company's Yangtzepoo factory and, according to Mr. Schwartz, production will commence next week.
