TitleClaude Neon Lights, Fed. Inc.'s global network (1929-1941)
Digitized fileNo
Year Start1929

Description

This map shows the American Shanghai-based company Claude Neon Lights, Fed. Inc.'s connections throughout the world, from its founding in 1929 to 1941. As exclusive patents owner of Claude Neon Light in the Far East, most of its network concentrated in the Far East. Moreover, as neon signs are favoured by local shops, most of its clients were based in Shanghai (see Claude Neon's "local map"). Yet, the company global network is probably underestimated on this map, due to the lack of materials. We know through Shanghai local press that the company was part of a worldwide network including dozens of Claude Neon Light's patent owners agencies. Moreover, due to its American roots, it is highly probable that the Shanghai-based company have many more US-based important clients. Two types of connections appeared on this map: clients (purple dots or factories) and branch offices (purple diamonds for actual offices, and purple flash dots for projected offices).

This map has been mainly established after Shanghai local press (China press).
