1st sheet (products): types of products and business sectors advertised in the five usual samples of the Shanghai-based British newspaper North China Daily News (January 7, 1914; January 3, 1924; January 5, 1934; February 1, 1941; January 1, 1949).

2nd sheet (firms): origins/nationalities of advertisers in the same five samples of the North China Daily News (January 7, 1914; January 3, 1924; January 5, 1934; February 1, 1941; January 1, 1949).

3rd sheet (brands): proportion of branded/unbranded goods advertised in the same five samples of the North China Daily News (January 7, 1914; January 3, 1924; January 5, 1934; February 1, 1941; January 1, 1949).

This table has proved a useful tool to build the associate graphs (see "Graphs" section) analyzing the type of products/business sectors, the origins of advertisers and measuring the proportion of branded goods in the North China Daily News between 1914-1949, and to compare the British newspaper to the Chinese daily Shenbao.
