The table aims to extract essential information from Arnold's diary related to his daily work as a commercial attache in China between 1916 and 1937. As far as possible, every action is given its precise date and location (place, city, street address). While reading Arnold's diary, I paid special attention to the persons he met or interacted with (name and position), the type of action or interaction (call, luncheon, walk, meeting), their object, and source references (archival records and page number in the digital copy).
