Correspondence dated October 1936 - January 1937 in connection with the collecting of data regarding the market for  canned beer in Hong Kong and China : 

  • Letter dated October 19, 1936, from Liaison officer, to the Assistant Secretary of State - requesting a report on the market for canned beer in Hong Kong, especially information regarding the types of beer consumed, methods of packing, wholesale and retail prices, extent of demand, any restrictions which might handicap the sale of beer in tin containers, and any other data peculiar to the Hong Kong market which would be of value in making a correct appraisal of the possibilities of introducing American canned beer, and if possible, the names of any concerns which express an active interest in representing American breers, and world trade directory reports - 1p 
  • Letter dated October 19, 1936, from the Foodstuffs Division, to the Shanghai Office, on the subject of "Market for Canned Beer in China" - requesting a report on the possibilities of developing the market for canned beer in China, especially information regarding the types of beer consumed, methods of packing, wholesale and retail prices, extent of demand, any regulations which might handicap the sale of beer in tin containers, and any other data which would be of value in making a correct appraisal of the possibilities of introducing American canned beer, and if possible, the names of any concerns which express an active interest in representing American breers, and world trade directory reports  - 1p 
  • Letter dated January 17, 1937, from the Foodstuffs Division, to the Bureau's Office in San Francisco, on the subject of "Market for Beer in Hong Kong" - transmitting a report received from Hong Kong in reply to the Del Valle, Kahman & Company's request to be furnished with a report regarding the market for canned beer in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore, dated October 10, 1936 - 1p 
  • Letter dated January 25, 1937, from the Foodstuffs Division, to the Bureau's Office in San Francisco, on the subject of "Market for Beer in Hong Kong" - transmitting a report received from Hong Kong in reply to the Del Valle, Kahman & Company's request to be furnished with a report regarding the market for canned beer in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore, dated October 10, 1936 - 1p
