Philip L. Bickel (1895-1924), born in in London, England (St Pancras, Greater London) on June 24, 1895. Married Floy Belle Hyde in Shanghai on April 9, 1920. Engaged in the advertising business with Carl Crow, Inc before 1921. He later became assistant manager of the Oriental Press between 1921-1923, then first officer at the China Merchant's company (before 1924).
