C.P.

Despite his 68 years, C.P. Ling is as spry and ethusiastic today as he was in 1926 when he founded the China Commercial Advertising Agency in Shanghai. Years later the China Press editorialized that "Ling was well qualified to start China's first modern advertising agency". 

And indeed he was. While studying for his PhD at Columbia University, C.P. Ling was admonished by a friend who said bright young men ought then to be either in Banking or Advertising. And so 44 years ago when the concept of modern advertising was just beginning, C.P. was already hard at work in a New York advertising agency. Today C.P. is Chairman of the Board at China Commercial and still active every day on many of the agency's accounts.
