Newspapers names are arranged alphabetically by cities, second by language, and finally by publication type (frequency). The directory includes Hongkong and Macao.
That fourth edition further includes an unfoldable map of China and many advertisements for newspapers and periodicals. For each city, a short introduction provides important geographical and demographic facts. For each newspaper, the directory indicates the place of publication (adress of the newspaper office), the number and size of pages, its circulation. The 1937 directory is preceded by an advertising manual aimed to provide advertisers a brief introduction to newspaper mechanical requirements, direct mail advertising, outdoor adertising and radio advertising.
