"Economic and Financial Problems in China During the Period of National Emergency" was the special topic of the second day of the conference, followed by an elaborate dinner given for the society members by the Central Bank of China at the Liu Chia Restaurant. Another session was held on September 29, morning, presided by J. Usang Ly, followed by a tiffin given by the City Government of Greater Shanghai, and a dinner at the CHinese Y.M.C.A. Restaurant given jointly by 10 Chinese organizations. Some members went to Soochow an Changshu while others remained in Shanghai to visit factories. Speeches were chiefly devoted to a discussion of the effects of the Silver Currency Act and on plans for the rural and industrial rehabilitation of China.
