The succession of the six following maps offer of case study of Oriental Advertising Agency's space-times in Shanghai International Settlement during the year 1914. The maps reveal a relative continuity in terms of locations and the turn over of brands and advertisers within a limited set of sites over time. They also suggest the possible impact of WWI as the number of sites decreased after August 1914. The maps were designed after the list of advertising boards that OAA sent to the Shanghai Municipal Council as part of the general census of advertising spaces in the International Settlement (see related table: http://madspace.org/cooked/Tables?ID=151). A major limitation of these maps is that they happen to overlap several advertisements located at the same place. Some ads are hidden by other. The investigation would gain in refining the scale of observation.
