This table aims to identify the standard dimensions of advertisements in the streets of Shanghai, between 1914 and 1943. The standards were established after two main sources:

• our own surveys conducted in the Shanghai Municipal Archives, mostly in 1914 and 1943 (first sheet)
• professional handbooks (Crow, in Arnold, 1926: 198-199) and reports (Bacon, 1929:) published in the 1920s (second sheet)
