Provides a list of the most important periodicals in Shanghai, accompanied by a forms (questionaires) giving information on their frequency, name and address of publisher, language, circulation, distribution and coverage, the day on which it the journal has its largest circulation, subscription price, physical make-up (average number of pages; size of page, number of columns to page, whether mats can be used, kind of paper used, etc.), date of founding, class of readers.
Also includes a list of Chinese journals considered unimportant in Shanghai, that have not furnished the US consular office with information. The list nonetheless provides the Chinese and English names of the journal, date of establishment, the number and size of pages, technical features, name of publisher, and circulation.
The report also provides a list of publications outside Shanghai, sorted by cities.
