The table is an open list of American organizations that were connected to China between 1917 and 1955. The list results from the compilation of various sources in three main archival repositories hold at the Hoover Institution, Stanford (Arnold's, Calder's and Hornbeck's papers). The table provides the following information : name of organizations (English and Chinese, full and abbreviated), their date and place of founding  (city, country), their nature (according to my own typology), the period covered by the available documentation (start/end year) and a brief self-description (whenever available). The table also includes source references (archival repository and page number in the digital copy). 

NB The data in blue refer to information that were not included in the original document and that I personnally added.
