Manufactured by DR. WILLIAMS' MEDICINE COMPANY [FULFORD & COMPANY, LIMITED, G.T. of Canada]
"Dr. Williams' Pink Pills for Pale People" appeared first in the Shenbao, later in the North China Daily News (1924). Contrary to what some culturalists' studies asserted, "Dr. Williams' Pink Pills for Pale People" were not prohibited in China. Although they were prohibited in Western countries, these pills were lavishly advertised in both Chinese and forein newspapers in Shanghai, along with other brands and products made by the same Canadian company (FULFORD & COMPANY) - Pinkettes, Respiroids, She-ko, Baby's own tablets. This suggests that Western probition laws did not apply in China, even in Shanghai foreign settlements.
