An advertisement published in the North China Daily News in 1941 promised that health-rays could cure all kinds of diseases: "If You Suffer from ANY PAINS: NEURITIS, RHEUMATISM, BRONCHITIS, etc. or SKIN DISEASES: BOILS, ECZEMA, PIMPLES, ULCERS, etc. -- Radiations at any time: can be hired. Explanatory booklet on application from HEALTH-RAYS LIMITED. 45 Denis Apartments, 770 Bubbling Well Road, Telephone 33387."

This suggest that chemotherapy and health-rays were considered as the new "panacea" at the time.
