Description

Report regarding the possible manufacture of automobiles in China. Encloses the translation of an article from the Chinese newspaper Xinwenbao, dated May, 11, 1923, entitled "Chinese Invention of Electric motorcar", and a report by the American Trade Commissioner entitled "Chinese Electric Automobile". (2p)

Letter from Hoyt on the subject of the China Ming Shen Trading Company involved in the manufacture of Chinese automobiles. (1p), dated July 2, 1923.

A Chinese official named Hu Kuo Kang (former director of the Shanghai storage battery plant of the Ministry of Communications), founder of "The Chinese Storage Battery Factory", 14-15 North Thibet Road, Shanghai. Inventor of the first "electric car" (automobile driven by electricity).
