We request your permission to install two flood lights on a pole at the intersection of Bubbling Well Road and Love Lane in order to illuminate te upper floors of the China Motors' building, No.702 Bubbling Well Road. Sketch showing the proposed installation is attached hereto.

I forward herewith a copy of an application from the Shanghai Power Company, and a copy of my reply thereto.
There are no Police objections to the installation of flodd lights as shown on the accompanying plan. The flood lights are shilded to meet traffic requirements and to protect pedestrians from possible glare annoyance.
As such applications may also be the concern of the Public Works DEpartment I have requested that all future applications be submitted direct to the Secretary, S.M.C.
