This map shows the Shanghai-based American agency Millington.'s connections throughout the world from its founding in 1927 to 1941. Five types of connections appeared on this map: clients (yellow dots), audit firms/banks (yellow dollar symbol) and branch offices (yellow diamonds).

This map has been mainly established after C.A. Bacon's reports in 1929, plus various articles from the local press in Shanghai (China Press). Therefore, we have very limited data on this company. Given that it was one of the most powerful and world-wide connected agencies in Shanghai, this map certainly shows but a few of those global connections. Yet many of the agency's Chinese and foreign clients were also based in Shanghai, had local offices or agents in Shanghai (see the "local" map). Moreover, as Millington, Ltd. merged with the Oriental Advertising Agency before 1930, their respective maps should be juxtaposed to get a more comprehensive view of Millington's national and global networks after 1929.
