The China Commercial Advertising Agency) was in charge of Daggett & Ramsdell's advertising campaigns since 1927 - which is not surprising, given that its manager C.P. Ling had established strong connections with American companies and businessmen when he was a student in New York. Yet it is surprising that the American brand appeared only in the British newspaper North China Daily News, and was never advertised in the Chinese newspaper Shenbao. In the Shenbao, Daggett was probably competed by other brands (the American brand Pond's Cold Cream and various Chinese brands). Moreover, C.P. Ling's agency was closely tied to the newspaper Xinwenbao, which was the main competitor to the Shenbao in Shanghai.
