Asahi Advertising Company offfers an example of a Japanese transnational agence. Based in Yokohama, the agency has several offices - among which one was based in Shanghai. The Yokohama office was sole agent for the Tokyo Electric Lamps Company. S. Wushida (later the only advertising agent who obtained a permit from the S.M.C to use utility poles for advertising purposes in 1942-1943) was the founder and manager of the Asahi Advertising Company.
