I beg to ask your permission to put the advertising kiosk with electric light inside, in one of the following corners: Corner of North Szechuen & Soochow Roads (Chinese Post Office), Corner of Nanking and Bund (Cathay Hotel), Corner of Nanking & Szechuen Roads (Central Arcade). PS. Enclosed herewith the sketch of this advertising kiosk. 

Commissioner of Public Works to "Echo" Advertising Agency - "Advertising Kiosk on Municipal Road" - informing that advertising kiosk are not allowed to encroach onto Municipal road but could be permitted on other locations provided that they are fixed behing the building line. With reference to your letter of the 24th instant, I beg to inform you that the advertising kiosk cannot be allowed to encroach onto the Municipal road. If locations can be obtained where these kiosks can be fixed behind the building line they might be allowed. I return herewith three plans.
