With reference to your letter of the 17th concerning an illuminated sign, suspended from the canopee, I need to ask you to excuse me as I was not aware I was transgressing municipal building rules and would promptly have made a request for a permit had I thought that it was necessary. I would be deeply obliged if would let me have a permit for same as it is very strong built and fairly high.

Could you pease let me ... in what way I have transgressed and I will remedy it as soon as possible. I beg to remain Sir yours faithfully.

The writer is in receipt of your letter last month requesting him to demolish the entrance lamp projecting over the municipal road line. This has been done. He will be glad to know whether a permit for the re-erection of the lamp should be obtained from the council or set back to the line according to the Council's regulations.

With reference to your letter of the 3rd inst. I shall be glad if you wil kindly apply for a permit should you wish to re-erect the lamp in question. 

Signs and laps should be at last 11 feet in the clear above the footpath and project not more than 3 feet beyond the Municipal road line.

With reference to your letter No.7981 of the 5th March 1928 we be to reply you that an illuminated sign in question was temporary erected, exceeding the permissible projection beyond the Municipal Road Line, at a short period of Cheap Scale. We will be removed it to-morrow.
